I have been flighty as of late. Only satisfied - yet unutterably frustrated - while painting. My quest for improvement and something near to the perfection I so unwaveringly hunt. Skin is becoming increasingly frustrating. I seek the crisp, beautiful tones of skin made real on digital canvas. Yet I can't quite get my hands on it. I can't quite get my brain to work with my hands. And I feel like weeping because I... I can almost taste that which I seek. But I can't... quite... get it. If anyone can help me, please let me know. I am near the end of my tether and almost burnt out over this.

Good Afternoon, sweethearts,
I've been thinking lately... there's an awful lot of preasure on young artists, like myself, to paint everything from your own head and not have any help or use any shortcuts - that's how I feel anyway. But, I've been reading books from artists like Martin Mcenna and I have discovered that a lot of artists I thought painted everything entirely from scratch actually use 3D renders to help them. This is by no means a bad thing and doesn't make me thik of them any less, or make their work any less impressive, it actually lets me breathe a huge sigh of relief.

So, I suppose what I'm writing this for is, do you guys use any so called 'cheats' or short cuts? What are your thoughts on artists who do? Does it matter? Does it make the artist any less credible? Does it make the art any less enjoyable?

Conrad Simmons of the UK thrash metal band Lycan [link] emailed me a little while ago requesting to use my artwork Ordo Ab Chao on their album Dark Days as well as the Dark Days tshirts. I've been itching to post this exciting news for a while, but I wanted to wait until the contract came through so it was all finalized. I'm super mega excited! Their song Touch of Chaos hit Kerrang and Scuzz so I'm hoping this album will do well and I wish the boys from the band the best of luck and thank them for giving me this opportunity to have my work on something so exciting!

I have been considering self publishing some books through lulu.com, probably a couple of small art books and short illustrated novellas. My good friend pointed me towards this site and it has got my brain ticking over about doing it. I just would like to know if anyone would actually buy it? I generally write romantic horror with the occasional erotic vein and all of these books would be illustrated. So... let me know.
